Maricopa County Events Center (The Sundome)
is located in the center of Sun City West and is the nations’ largest
single-level theater seating more than 7,000 people. It is acclaimed by
audiences and performers alike for its lighting and acoustics. Throughout
the year, it features the country’s biggest stars and popular stage
productions. It’s the home of the West Valley Symphony with a regular
schedule of concerts and guest artists.
The Stardust Theatre
(right above) is home to Variety Show and Theater West staged by local performers and theatrical groups. It also
is the scene for dance revues put on by the talented Rhythm Tappers and
other local dance groups. A continuing series of classic feature films,
along with travel presentations are shown here.

The West Valley Art Museum and the Heard West museum, featuring Native American art and artifacts, are five minutes in Surprise.
Baseball, football and hockey are popular
sports Coyotes have begun play in the Jobbing.com arena just 30 minutes
from Sun City West. Next to it, a new University of Phoenix domed stadium for the Cardinals football team. Downtown Phoenix, a
45-minute drive, is home to Arizona Diamondbacks baseball and Phoenix
Suns basketball. The FBR Open (formerly the Phoenix Open) is one of the
nation’s first major golf tournaments each year, and various other PGA
and LPGA tour events take place in the Valley of the Sun.
Few retirement communities offer close proximity to so
many entertainment opportunities!
