from Sun City West. Next to it is the new University of Phoenix domed stadium for the Arizona Cardinals football team.
Downtown Phoenix is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball and Phoenix Suns basketball teams.
Several teams are within a short distance during baseball spring training.
The FBR Open (formerly the Phoenix Open is one of the first major golf tournaments each year, and other PGA
and LPGA tour events take place in the Valley of the Sun.

The West Valley Art Museum is minutes away in Surprise. The nationally recognised Heard museum, featuring Native American art and artifacts, is downtown. For music lovers, the West Valley Symphony meets periodically in different West Valley venues. We have two world-class zoos, the World Wildlife Zoo with it's new aquarium on the west side of town and the Phoenix Zoo in Papago Park along with the Desert Botanic Garden across the Valley. Hiking, bird, butterfly, and garden buffs will also enjoy the Boyce Thompson Arboretum.
